Family Medicine at Arizona Family Health

Dr. Christopher Morris is a board-certified family physician and the lead physician at Arizona Family Health. As an Arizona native, Dr. Morris brings a unique background of service to his patients, including experience as a U.S. Army combat medic and a former Phoenix police officer and detective before pursuing medicine.

He completed medical school at A.T. Still University in Mesa, and his family medicine residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. At Arizona Family Health, Dr. Morris specializes in personalized family medicine, sports medicine, and primary care services for patients of all ages, focusing on building relationships and delivering tailored care.

Known for his direct and compassionate approach, Dr. Morris strives to make healthcare feel more accessible, practical, and personal. He believes that patients should feel heard, respected, and treated like family rather than just a number.

Outside of work, Dr. Morris enjoys spending time with his family and maintaining strong connections to the Arizona community he has served in various ways throughout his life.

Krysten Begley is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner who brings more than 10 years of nursing experience and eight years as a nurse practitioner to Arizona Family Health. With a strong background in personalized family medicine and chronic disease management, she has cared for patients through many stages of health and life.

Krysten has previously worked alongside Dr. Chris Morris, DO, and their established professional relationship makes her a natural addition to the Arizona Family Health team.

Her approach to care is compassionate, patient-centered, and rooted in listening. Krysten believes quality healthcare begins with understanding each patient’s concerns, building trust, and working together to create care plans that feel realistic and supportive.

Passionate about helping patients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their healthcare journey, Krysten is excited to provide primary care services to patients ages 3 and older throughout Surprise and the West Valley.

Mindy Smith has been completing her nurse practitioner clinical rotations with Arizona Family Health for the past several months. During that time, she has become a familiar and valued part of the AFH family.

We are excited that Mindy has chosen to continue her journey with Arizona Family Health and will be joining our provider team in late October 2026. Mindy is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and looks forward to building lasting relationships with individuals and families in our community.

Alexis is a valued member of the Arizona Family Health team and a familiar face to many of Dr. Morris’ patients. She has worked closely with patients throughout Dr. Morris’ previous practices, providing personalized family medicine by offering care, support, and a welcoming presence every step of the way.

Her healthcare journey began as a medical assistant while attending nursing school, driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact in patient care. Over time, Alexis discovered a deep passion for building personal connections, getting to know patients by name, and helping families feel comfortable and supported during their visits to Arizona Family Health.

In addition to her clinical work, Alexis also helps behind the scenes with patient communication, coordination, and follow-up to ensure that each visit to our primary care services runs smoothly. Her attention to detail, compassion, and warm approach help patients feel informed, heard, and cared for.

Alexis is proud to continue working alongside Dr. Morris as she grows in her healthcare career and considers it a privilege to be part of each patient’s care experience at Arizona Family Health.

Katie is a dedicated member of the Arizona Family Health team and brings years of experience in the medical field, including a background in home healthcare. Originally from Idaho, Katie moved to Arizona in 2019 and has a strong commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Her personal experiences with family healthcare have shaped her dedication to transparency, listening, and helping patients feel respected and supported. Katie believes in treating every individual with kindness and care, no matter their age or stage of life.

At Arizona Family Health, Katie helps support patient care as a Medical Assistant and assists with the day-to-day needs that help visits run smoothly. Her nurturing personality and calm, helpful approach help create a positive experience for patients throughout their care.

Maribel Beltran is a welcomed member of the Arizona Family Health team and brings 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant. In her front desk and Medical Assistant role, she primarily supports patients at the front desk while also assisting with clinical needs when needed.

She is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, heard, and supported. Maribel enjoys being able to make a positive difference in someone’s day, even through the little things. She is also bilingual, which allows her to help support and communicate with more of the patients and families we serve.

Outside of work, Maribel loves spending time with her family, staying active, and kickboxing. She also enjoys plants and flowers, and is a proud dog mom to Luna. Maribel is excited to continue learning and growing in healthcare as she begins nursing school.
